What is You?
The idea of paying tribute to all women with a extra virgin olive oil Taggiasco specifically designed for them was Alice Sommariva's, young owner of the oil mill along with her family, now in the fifth generation.
You was also born thanks to a special person who has been an important point of reference for Alice and the entire Sommariva family: aunt Mina, who passed away four years ago due to a condition that accompanied her throughout her life. Her courage and strength have been a great source of inspiration. And this thought full of love and respect has become a broader project dedicated to all women who, like aunt Mina, have fought and continue to fight their battle every day: against a disease, against violence – physical, psychological, and sexual – against gender discrimination and against body shaming.
Inside the box containing You there is also a precious gift: Alice's diary, where day by day she transcribed her thoughts, all directed and dedicated to her beloved aunt Mina. Through reading of the diary will allow us to retrace the birth and development of this project.
A project entirely female we wrote at the beginning. Well, not by chance. In fact, the the olives from which the oil was extracted come from land owned by women and are always cultivated by them. And what is more important than all, part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to charity.
